Hardware Devices

 Mouse

A computer mouse is an input device that is used both with laptops and computers. Moving a mouse along a table or a mouse matcan move the on-screen marker to different items on the screen. Items can be moved or selected by clicking the mouse buttons.
It is called a computer mouse because of the wire that connects the mouse to the computer. Today, many computer mice use wireless technology and have no wire.

The mouse is commonly known to take a big part in the manipulating of digital graphic as it gives you the ability to edit and change the graphic for example cropping the picture by moving the mouse to the amount of picture that you want

Monitor

A monitor or a display is an electronic visual display for computers. The monitor comprises the display device, circuitry and an enclosure. The display device in modern monitors is typically a thin film transistor liquid crystal display thin panel, while older monitors use a cathode ray tube about as deep as the screen size. Originally, computer monitors were used for data processing while television receivers were used for entertainment. From the 1980s onwards, computers (and their monitors) have been used for both data processing and entertainment, while televisions have implemented some computer functionalty.

The monitor proves a very big part of digital graphics at it has the quality and design to be able to show you the digital graphic that you need, if it was not for the new and improved quality of these monitors we would not be able to use the programmes that are available for us today.

Digital Tablet

Digital tablet  is a computer device that enables a user to draw images by hand the same way someone draws images with a pencil and paper. These tablets may also be used to capture data or handwritten signatures by the camera it has and being able to sign with your hand .
The device consists of a flat surface upon which the user may trace an image using an attached stylus, a pen-like drawing apparatus. The image generally does not appear on the tablet itself but, rather, is displayed on the computer monitor.
Some tablets are intended as a general replacement for a mouse as the primary pointing and navigation device for desktop computers.

The digital tablet has many uses of digital graphics as it has many apps to download that can edit images and crop and change the colour of it, if it was not for the many uses and findings of digital graphics then the many brands and technology of digital tablets would never be created.

Digital Camera

A digital camera is a camera that encodes digital images and videos digitally and stores them for later reproduction. Most cameras sold today are digital, and digital cameras are incorporated into many devices for example mobile phones amd vehicles.
Digital and film cameras share an optical system, typically using a lens with a variable diaphragm to focus light onto an image pickup device. The diaphragm and shutter admit the correct amount of light to the imager, just as with film but the image pickup device is electronic rather than chemical. However, unlike film cameras, digital cameras can display images on a screen immediately after being recorded, and store and delete images from memory. Many digital cameras can also record moving video with sound. Some digital cameras can crop and stitch pictures and perform other elementary image editing.

The digital Camera is heavily involved in digital graphics as it has the ability to take pictures of different sizes and colours like black and white or with bright colours, it is mainly one of the most effective uses when working with digital graphics.

Flash Cards

A flash card is a small data storage device that uses a flash memory chip to store data. Flash cards can be quite small in size, with a capacity of many gigabytes of storage. The memory in these cards is non-volatile, so it does not require a power source to remain intact. There are many different devices that use these cards for example computer, phones and gaming devices.

One of the major reasons that flash cards are highly reliable is because they have no moving parts, unlike a hard disk drive that spins while being used, creating more opportunities for malfunction. Flash memory can be accessed very quickly. Electrical charges erase this type of memory in "flashes," hence the name, "flash card." These cards are common in many devices, providing extra storage in products such as digital cameras, mobile phones, and video game devices.
Flash cards are very important in digital graphics as if it were not for flash cards you would not be able to store the data of your digital graphics and it would be lost.

Printers

A printer is used for printing for computers. It uses ink to print on the paper. Printers are used by people who would need hand held documents rather than on a computer. The ink comes in special ink cartridges, which can be very expensive and uneconomical. Also, the ink in the cartridge may dry up. This means that a new cartridge is needed.

Many professionals use printers to print on very large surfaces. These printers usually do not use cartridges, but have a continuous supply of ink that could last for a long time. Printers need special paper. This paper has been treated so that the ink does not smear.

The printer has a big purpose within digital graphics it has the ability to print off the graphics you have created and designed if there were no printers digital graphics would not be as big as it is today.

Hard Drive

The hard drive stores all your data. It controls the hard disk, where all your files and folders are physically located. A typical hard drive is only slightly larger than your hand, yet can hold over 100 GB of data. The data is stored on a stack of disks that are mounted inside a solid encasement. These disks spin extremely fast (typically at either 5400 or 7200 RPM) so that data can be accessed immediately from anywhere on the drive. The data is stored on the hard drive magnetically, so it stays on the drive even after the power supply is turned off.
The term "hard drive" is short for "hard disk drive." The  "hard disk" refers to the actual disks inside the drive. However, all three of these terms are seen as refering to the same thing the place where your data is stored.

The hard drive takes a massive part in digital graphics as it stores all of your data if it were not for your hard drive you wouldnt be able to save anything based on a computer.

Graphics Cards

A graphics card is a part of hardware installed in a computer that has the job of placing the image on the computer’s monitor or display screen. Graphics cards come in many types with many features that allow a price range from about £20to £2,400 USD.

The first thought when buying a graphics card is to be sure it is capable of displaying the best resolution the monitor can support. For Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) monitors this means supporting the native resolution. Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) monitors do not have a native resolution. In this case, ensure the card is capable of supporting the highest resolution, even if the CRT Monitor will be frequently used at lower resolutions.

The graphics card takes a great effect in didgital graphics, it places images onto the computer screen so you can design an image or print it in your own way.

Processor(s)

The processor is a chip housed on the motherboard and is the ‘heart’ of a computer system it controls everything. It contains the circuitry which processes the instructions in the computer programs by interpreting them into actual movements of bits of data within the computer memory. The control circuitry pulls data in via the various ports, directs it along data buses, stores it within the memory, performs calculations on it and sends the results of processing to a VDU screen, to a printer or to a secondary storage device for more processing at a later date. Computer manufacturers constantly seek to improve the processor by increasing its capabilities like the types of instructions that it can process and its speed.

RAM

RAM stands for Random Access Memory and is a computer storage location that allows data from running applications to be stored and found quickly from random locations on a memory module. It is a volatile memory storage which means that it needs to have constant power to allow you to the data otherwise if the power goes off then you will lose any data that you had located on the RAM.  The memory bus is made up of two sections the data bus, and the address bus. The memory bus in many computers is also shared with the processor bus connecting the system memory to the processor and the system. The memory bus is then used within the computer to transfer information between its components.
