What is new and emerging technology?

New and emerging technologies are technologies that are arising from new knowledge or a change or improvements in a previous or existing field of knowledge for example medicine and healing of diseases would be an existing technology and we are always striving and working to create new breakthroughs and ideas. An idea that has come around recently for medicine would be the Tandem Diabetes’s T: Slim Insulin Pump. this does the exact same thing as a regular insulin pump but because children sometimes have Diabetes’ and they get embarrassed about using a regular insulin pump, designers came up with this it looks like an IPod/I phone and makes them feel more comfortable it has a micro USB which stores data like when do you last took insulin and when you are due to take another shot. Game console creators playstaion and xbox are always rivaling with each other to beat each other new products and products of old for many years both have just released the consoles ps4 and xbox one which both have many gamers running to every closest game store. This is a very exciting prospect for the technologies of the future.


Changes in output media products

The technological world around us is changing and as a result we have designed many things new TV's are one of these we have HD TV's, 3D TV's, Ultra HD TV's the list goes on and on, we have also designed smart TV's these are TV's that are able to connect to the internet. These new tvs help to have a better viewing of dvds and are able to play our gaming consoles on the tv and due to this provide you with a better gaming and viewing experience.

Printer technology

For many years there has been a large amount of printers available from plotters, dot matrix, inkjet to laser but recently there has been a newly designed printer that prints in 3D this uses liquid plastic to print out an object and looks very interesting, it gives businesses and organisations the chance and opportunity to attract more customers and companies to buy their products by enhancing their advertising skills.

Mobile phone

For a number of years now Apples product 'IPhone' has predominantly ran the mobile devices market and as a result a lot of other phones haven't had the chance to get any of the limelight for example nokia and balckberry but now the mobile brand 'HTC' have designed the HTC one which in my opinion shows some great potential to not only rival the IPhone but to take the touch screen crown from Apple, just like the HTC.

Tablets

A graphics tablet is used to be able to hand draw an image onto your computer screen. With the new device Pad Pivot you can set you graphics tablet on your knee whilst using it to draw your image effortlessly in the comfort of your chair. The Pad Pivot is compatible with the iPad, Samsung galaxy Tablet, Blackberry Playbook, kindle and even the Nook. This device will have an impact on graphics as you can now draw free hand onto a computer screen and the result will be of high quality, if you are skilled at drawing. There is also a new device called the Crayola trace and draw. The design of this is a case for an iPad to allow children to slide a piece of paper in between to draw, a child can also use a free app to draw on. A graphics tablet can have an effect on the way images are being produced because artists can draw free hand with a stylus onto the tablet and then you can upload this to your computer to manipulate even more in a program such as Adobe Photoshop.

Xbox Kinnect



The Xbox Kinnect is a device which captures your movements as you are the controller. Many people have keen interests to play games such as 'Kinnect Sports' and 'Zumba' which are popular games and can be fun to play with a group of friends as you can get a good laugh watching yourself after you have finished playing as the Kinnect records you and replays the video when you are finished.

The Kinnect is based on a webcam based input device and is very popular as within the first 2 months 8 million devices where sold. The Kinnect is very popular with the younger generation as kids love to play some it the games available on the market and it also helps keep you fit as you have to move yourself as if you where the controller!
